NHRA Nationals - Reading, PA

The NHRA Nationals in Reading, Pennsylvania mark the beginning of the Countdown to the Championship and those teams that are lucky enough to be included in it, see it as a whole other level of competition.  Any advantages from the season thus far are minimized and anyone has a chance to jump into the lead.  The Trick-Tools team entered the race in 7th position with high hopes to leave better than they came in.

Reading is a notoriously fast track with cooler temps and plenty of oxygen from the surrounding trees.  Four qualifying attempts allow the teams to take advantage of conditions and tune for some of the fastest laps of the season.  When the dust settled Saturday night Chase and team found themselves qualified 5th with a stellar 6.754 e.t. @ 200.02 mph!

Sunday morning eliminations brought high hopes as Chase was paired against #12 Mark Ingwersen. The bikes left the starting line and Chase quickly pulled into the lead as the Trick-Tools Suzuki had the best 60' time of the season so far when unexpectedly the bike began to drift toward the center line.  The front tire finally touched down around 300 feet and made a violent move which forced Chase to abandon the run in order to keep from going down.

Disappointed but counting our blessings we will move on to Charlotte next weekend and hope to continue our top five qualifying streak and gain more valuable points.
